Antonius Kufferath
Antonius is an analyst on the Acacia team.
Prior to joining Ruane Cunniff in 2014, Antonius worked in strategy and business development at Colfax Corporation, a company in which Acacia was an investor. Antonius started his career in strategy consulting, and then held various operating roles in the industrials sector, before attending Oxford University to get a graduate degree in Modern Chinese Studies. After Oxford, Antonius joined Colfax, where his path crossed with Ruane Cunniff, and he never looked back!
What advice to do you have for aspiring investors?
It's all about a mindset that's balanced. Be curious and open-minded, but also firm and disciplined. Be intuitively skeptical, but never contrarian for the sake of being contrarian. Be imaginative, but always grounded in reality. Be focused, but also broad.
What the most exciting part of your job?
The ability to learn about companies, industries, and countries every day; engaging with intellectually curious colleagues, interfacing with talented management teams, and exchanging ideas with other investors.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I enjoy growing vegetables; you get physical exercise, a feedback loop, and get to enjoy the fruits of your labor -- no pun intended. And of course, I enjoy reading lots of books!
