Chase Sheridan

Chase is an analyst on the Sequoia team and sits on the strategy’s Investment Committee. In addition, he is a Co-Portfolio Manager of Hyperion Fund. Chase serves as a member of Ruane Cunniff’s Management Committee.

Chase began his career in 1993 as a Mergers & Acquisitions analyst at Chicago Dearborn. Two years later, he joined the Equity Derivatives group of Philadelphia-based options trading firm Cooper Neff. In 2001, Chase left Cooper Neff as a Senior Vice President and founded an arbitrage firm back in Chicago, Q.E.D. Capital. He later spent time at Citadel Securities as a Senior Vice President of Equity Derivatives

Chase graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Economics. He also earned an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he completed the Value Investing Program.

How did you develop your investment philosophy/get interested in investing?

I read everything I could in every niche of money management, then decided value investing was the path for me and attended Columbia Business School's Value Investing Program in 2005.

What is rewarding about what you do?

Getting to know our clients and seeing the impact that good results can have on their lives and philanthropic activities.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

Finding picturesque waterfalls in faraway places and kayaking off of them.
