Mark Smith
Mark is a member of the Investor Relations and Business Development team at Ruane Cunniff. In addition to speaking with clients and marketing our various strategies, Mark is also responsible for producing the videos and case studies in our content library.
Mark began his career as an assistant portfolio manager at a convertible arbitrage hedge fund. Before joining Ruane Cunniff in 2020, Mark worked as an analyst and portfolio manager at two different fund of funds, vetting hedge fund managers and building portfolios for institutional clients.
Mark graduated from Wesleyan University with a BS in Economics and graduated from Columbia Business School with an MBA in Finance. Mark is a CFA charterholder.
Tell us about your family.
I'm married to a beautiful and creative woman named Charlotte, who has reached D-list celebrity status as a DIY Design Influencer/Content Creator. She and I are the proud parents of five wonderful (most of the time) kids, who play a lot of sports and do a lot of activities. This has provided excellent training for my next career as a professional carpool driver.
