Matt is an analyst on the Sequoia team and a Partner of Ruane Cunniff.
Matt joined Ruane Cunniff initially as a summer intern and then as a full-time analyst upon graduation in 2018.
Matt graduated from Columbia University, Summa Cum Laude, with a BS in Chemical Engineering.

How did you develop your investment philosophy/get interested in investing?
I was always interested in business, even though I decided to study Chemical Engineering in college. Early on I read some of Peter Lynch’s books on investing, and this got me hooked! I kept reading on my own and found that the independent investment study/reading coupled with the quantitative problem solving I learned in engineering laid the foundation for my investment philosophy. The opportunity to further refine and apply this philosophy has been an enriching experience here at RCG, where I continue to evolve as an investor.

A professional soccer player. But if that didn’t work out, I’d run my own business.
